Psalm 36:9 (NIV) For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

There are about 500 people who have been cryogenically preserved and are currently in storage, with thousands more people signed up for the procedure. These people have done that with the hopes that sometime in the future when technology is more advanced, they can be revived to live again. The people who do this obviously don’t believe in God, who is the one from whom all life emanates. No matter how advanced and astounding the technology may become, no one can give life except God alone.

If people only knew the truth that would sent them free, they would have surrendered their lives to the Lord Jesus while they were still living. Jesus said that He is the resurrection and the life and that whoever lives by believing in Him would never die (John 11:25-26). Everyone is looking for either the fountain of youth or for a way to live as long as possible. That’s why most people today are into exercising and eating healthy. But no matter what you do, we all have an appointment to die and to meet our Maker. No matter how healthy you eat or how much exercise you do, you have no idea how long you have on this earth. Jim Fix, the man who popularized the 1970s running craze with his best-selling book entitled, The Complete Book of Running, died of a massive heart attack while jogging. He was fifty-two years old.

David is telling everyone where the fountain of life is, but the majority of people on earth aren’t listening. That fountain of life is with Jesus, because He is life itself. He said that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6). That’s why when you receive Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, you immediately have eternal life promised and you stop being fearful of death. You don’t have to fear death when the one who is the fountain of life lives in you and that’s what Jesus said that He would do when you receive Him into your life. In addition to that amazing fact, we are promised light to see by. The truth is that people that don’t know Jesus as their Lord are in darkness. It may be light outside and you may have light inside the house, but if you don’t know the one who is Light, you are living in spiritual darkness. Once you have Jesus, you have the fountain of life and you have the Light to light your way here on earth.

 So don’t cryovac yourself in hopes of living forever. It’s not going to happen. Instead, live your life through Christ Jesus because when you do, you will never die. Your body may waste away and pass on, but your spirit and soul will live forever. Then as an added bonus, your body will rise from the grave and be transformed to a glorified body like Jesus’ body when He rose from the dead. Jesus defeated death and the grave and when we have Him as our Lord and Savior, we are victors over death and the grave as well. Praise be to the mighty name of Jesus!
