Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There are a plethora of reasons why being separated from God is a frightening thought. To begin with, to be separated from God is to be separated from life, because He is life (John 14:6). Next, He is light and to be separated from Him means living in darkness (1 John 1:5). The next thing is what people say makes the “world go ‘round” and what millions and millions of people have struggled to experience and attain to without fully being able to grasp it and that’s love. God is love. Love comes from God. He is the origin of love. That’s why so many people miss it. They miss it because they miss God. They pass Him by, thinking that they can experience pure love without Him. It’s not possible. Only God can love purely and perfectly. 

When you don’t have the love of God in your heart, you are never complete, always off-balance and can never seem to grasp the meaning of life or even your purpose. But when your heart is awakened to the love of God through a relationship with the Lord Jesus, that’s when you come alive and begin to experience the miraculous love of God. The love of God is overwhelming. It is beyond explanation and beyond understanding because it surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:19). The Word of God says that it is so wide, so long, so high and so deep that you need power to begin to grasp it. While I can’t put my arms around the love of God, I can tell you that there is nothing like it and that there is nothing that we need more in our lives because to have God's love is to have God as your God and to have God as your God is to have all that you will ever need.

That’s why the verse above is so amazing. Once you find the love of God or better said, once it finds you, you don’t ever want to lose it. But no worries there because once you have God's love in your life, nothing can separate you from it. There is nothing in all creation, no power, no circumstance, no situation, no nothing(!) that can separate His love from you. After you have experienced God’s love, you can know that you will absolutely always have it in this life and the one to come, guaranteed! Thank God for His amazing, inseparable love!
